Extra, Extra - read all about it!
News Updates - September 29, 2008
No, your calendar is not
on the wrong date. Yes, this edition of the Local Building Department
Newsletter is popping up in between the bi-weekly schedule. Thats
because this is an Extra edition which includes some extra information
we didnt want to delay until the regular edition on October
8. Check this Extra out and then look for the regular edition
next week.
ePermitting - We're interested in knowing your
interest
Local governments now have the opportunity to express
their interest in being a part of the Building Codes Division's
ePermitting program. ePermitting has developed a letter of interest
for purposes of signing jurisdictions into the queue for the ePermitting
system. BCD is working to get this letter of interest widely circulated
to all jurisdictions with a building program. The idea is to gauge
your jurisdiction's interest in participating in the system and
to see how long the line will be for early initiators. Knowing
the number of interested jurisdictions who are willing to make
this limited commitment will help us establish any needed prioritization
criteria.
If your jurisdiction is interested in the ePermitting system,
you should complete the letter
of interest and get it to BCD no later than October 31.
Obviously, many jurisdictions may need a more detailed presentation
from one of our information teams made up of technical staff,
program staff, and representatives of Accela. BCD is willing to
organize these information sessions before the October 31 deadline.
Please contact Patrick Allen at 503-378-2872 or patrick.allen@state.or.us
if your jurisdiction has any questions or would like to schedule
a presentation.
