Due to the implementation of the new Elevator Permitting System,
BCD is revising its rules to better reflect current administrative processes. To
insure that these revisions are effective, BCD's industry stakeholders assisted
in the rule development and review process. The rule revisions will implement the
following changes:
- Aligning operating permit cycles with corresponding inspection cycles.
- Clarifying the current process and requirements for escalator periodic inspections
and "clean down" inspections.
