Program Facts

The Building Codes Division is the local jurisdiction for Coos and Umatilla Counties, with staffed field offices in Coos Bay and Pendleton. Staff in these offices work with homeowners, contractors, architects, and engineers; providing plan review, permitting and inspection services.

After obtaining DEQ and local zoning approval homeowners and contractors may provide construction plans for review. Once approval is granted, permits are issued and inspections are provided upon request to ensure their building meets the state's safety standards and codes.
Note: For boiler, elevator, manufactured housing, prefabricated structures, and recreational vehicle information, go to Statewide Permitting Programs.
