In the fall of 2010 BCD
debuted our new mini training series we call Brown Bag Lunch
Training because the time for these sessions is always noon
to 1 p.m.. The program is designed to give you more in-depth
information on a specific topic. We started the series with
two sessions aimed at some of our plumbing alternate methods.
We will continue to take small bites of topics that interest
our audience. The format for the series targets information
on a specific topic with lots of examples from actual projects.
How it Works
The sessions are provided through virtual classroom software. Once you sign up for a class your name goes on a list of registrants that will receive an email a week prior to the course giving a link to the class. You can decide whether you want to get the audio portion of the class through your computer (voice over IP) or use your telephone. If you opt for the computer audio, we recommend you have a set of USB headphones with a microphone attached. This will give you the ability to communicate directly with the course instructor. Ten to fifteen minutes before the class is scheduled to start, you use the link that was sent to you earlier via email, to join the group. You can work on other projects at your desk while you wait for the session to begin. Enjoy your lunch while you participate in a Brown Bag Lunch training!
At this time each session has room for 50 participants. We ask that if you register, please plan on attending. If you are interested in the topic, but can not fit the session on your calendar, come back to this page after the scheduled date of the training and watch the taped archive of the session.
See if we have any courses that interest you on the list below. Some of the sessions coming up are open for registration. We try to set up registration four to six weeks before the class is scheduled and then leave it open until it either fills or the day before the class. So come back if you see something that interests you and register when it becomes available!
BCD is offering continuing education (CE) credits for these Brown Bag Lunch Training sessions, but you need to attend a live online training and you must attend two one-hour sessions on a given topic in order to receive a certificate for the CE credits. We are trying to provide combinations of courses in the same topic area specifically for this purpose.
