The Electrical and Elevator Board has asked Building Codes Division to reconvene the 2011 Electrical Code Committee in order to discuss a code change proposal relating to the expansion of the AFCI requirement. The current code will require that AFCI protection be expanded beyond bedrooms to whole house general purpose circuits, effective July 1, 2012. We are convening a public meeting to take comments on the proposal to delay the expansion of the AFCI requirement.
