The division and the Mechanical Board propose to update the 2010 Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code (OMSC) with the 2012 International Mechanical Code (IMC) and 2012 International Fuel-Gas Code (IFGC), creating the new 2014 Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code. To help in this effort, the committee will review model code changes, Oregon amendments to the 2010 OMSC and accepted code change proposals submitted by the public. These proposals could include adding an amendment to the proposed base model code, making recommendations to incorporate statewide code interpretations, or alternate method rulings into the updated code.

The division will forward proposed code changes for the 2014 Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code to the board mid 2013, with an anticipated code adoption date of April 1, 2014.
