The Building Codes Division has been working with the Boiler Board's Scoping Subcommittee to address a variety of issues involving administration of the boiler program. The rulemaking advisory committee is tasked with considering proposed changes to the program rules.

The proposed changes include:

• New definitions of boiler installations, welded or riveted repairs, and minor repairs.
• Establishment of a boiler minor label program that would allow certain minor repairs to be performed under a minor label.
• If time permits, the committee may also consider amendments to the Class 3 license requirements that would make it easier for employees of contractors that perform a limited amount of boiler work to meet the 2000 hour experience requirement.
