| It is the goal of this advisory
committee to advise and consult on Phase II of HB 3462 implementation. Phase II
of HB 3462 will establish a pilot program that will train and certify special instructors
authorized to enforce portions of the specialty codes. The Legislature authorized
HB 3462 to provide additional flexibility to building departments in addressing
the unique construction and inspection needs of their jurisdictions. This committee
is established to advise the division on carrying out the directive of the Legislature.
This committee will rely on testimony, evidence and expertise to advise and
consult on the establishment of specific specialized certifications. Committee
members will also advise and consult on the scope, prerequisites required and
training required for each specialized certification.
