4. If you are required to take an examination to obtain a license or certification, it is strongly suggested that you complete one or more of the practice examinations.
*** The Proof of Training Certificate must be submitted with the license or certification application. Applications submitted to the division without the training certificate will not be processed until the training certificate is received.

Applicants for licensed Manufactured Dwelling Installer (MDI), Limited Installer (LI), Limited Skirting Installer (LSI), or certified Manufactured Home Installation Inspector (MHI) must submit a completed Proof of Training Certificate along with their completed application for license or certification.

Proof of Training Certificate

The following practice examinations have been prepared for individuals who are required to successfully pass an examination prior to a license or certification being issued. Applicants for licensed Manufactured Dwelling Installer (MDI) and certified Manufactured Home Installation Inspector (MHI) are required to take an examination. Applicants are not required to take or pass a practice examination. These practice examinations have been provided as part of your preparation for the actual exam. Each practice examination is comprised of approximately 50 multiple choice questions from each chapter of the MDISC and random questions from Oregon Administrative Rule.

If you application is approved and you are required to take an examination, you will be sent an authorization letter containing detailed information regarding the examination process. When you submitted your application you pre-determined the location of your examination.

If you do not receive an authorization letter, your may either receive written notification of the status of your application or you may be contacted by division staff.

You must obtain your code book in advance of the examination. Code books are not provided at the examination location. The 2010 Manufactured Dwelling Installation Specialty Code may either be downloaded and printed or may be ordered by contacting the Oregon Manufactured Home Association at 503-364-2470 or omha@omha.com. Additionally, Oregon Revised Statute (ORS Chapter 446) and Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR 918-500 through OAR 918- 515) are located on the division's website.
