State Inspection Services
The Building Codes Division issues permits for all statewide programs it administers and is also the local jurisdiction for Coos, and Umatilla Counties.

State Inspection Services is split into two sections:
   

Regional Inspections (RI)

Statewide Services (SS)
RI section provides full-service plan review, permitting and inspections in Coos, and Umatilla Counties for:
  • Electrical
  • Manufactured housing
  • Mechanical
  • Plumbing
  • Structural

SS section issues permits for all statewide programs:

  • Boilers/Pressure vessels
  • Elevators & amusement rides
  • Manufactured housing
  • Prefabricated structures
  • Recreational vehicles

Program Facts

The Building Codes Division is the local jurisdiction for Coos and Umatilla Counties, with staffed field offices in Coos Bay and Pendleton. Staff in these offices work with homeowners, contractors, architects, and engineers; providing plan review, permitting and inspection services.
After obtaining DEQ and local zoning approval homeowners and contractors may provide construction plans for review. Once approval is granted, permits are issued and inspections are provided upon request to ensure their building meets the state's safety standards and codes.
