Payday Lending
Payday lending is a financial service with high fees that can place borrowers
with no savings or available credit at risk of greater indebtedness and more long-term credit
problems. It also can meet a need for those who have few or no other credit options. The following
links provide information for consumers about payday lending in Oregon, including new restrictions
approved by the legislature -- which will take effect next year -- as well as current regulations.
You'll also find information on how to check to see if a lender is properly licensed, and how
to file a complaint.
