Criminal Background Check Information
DCBS has been conducting employment-related, criminal background checks
(CBC) since November 2008. Because of the job duties, some DCBS positions
require a criminal background check. For questions about the types of
positions requiring a criminal background check (subject positions), see
the resources listed below. Individuals applying for subject positions
will complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check. DCBS employees
applying for subject positions will also complete a fingerprint-based
criminal background check if they are applying for a promotion, transfer,
voluntary demotion, or job rotations lasting longer than 10 days.
Recruiting announcements posted for positions subject to criminal background
checks will include a statement that employment will be contingent upon
the passing of a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
