Oregon OSHA offers free training in Ontario

ONTARIO
- The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OR-OSHA) will offer free training sessions to members of the Ontario-area business community during two days of workshops in June.

The Public Education and Conferences Section of Oregon OSHA will be offering four different workshops during the training sessions on June 11 and 12:

  • Safety Leadership, 8:00am June 11.
  • Recordkeeping, 1:00pm June 11.
  • Safety Committee Problem Solving, 8:00am June 12.
  • Hazard Identification and Control, 1:00pm June 12.

‘Safety Leadership’ will introduce class participants to successful models for promoting safety among workers and management to help your entire organization. ‘Recordkeeping’ will update participants about new OSHA recordkeeping requirements which went into effect in January (including the OSHA Form 300). ‘Safety Committee Problem Solving’ emphasizes the costs of safety and how a safety committee can effectively solve hazardous situations at work. ‘Hazard Identification and Control’ teaches participants how to locate hazardous situations in the workplace and prioritize which ones get attention first.

The workshops will be held at Treasure Valley Community College, 650 College Blvd. in Ontario. OR-OSHA provides workshop materials for participants.

Oregon OSHA offers a variety of conferences, on-site training, educational resources and consultation services to help Oregon employers create safer workplaces and reduce the amount of productivity lost due to injuries which occur at work. Additional information and resources are available on Oregon OSHA’s website, www.orosha.org
