Oregon OSHA offers free training in The Dalles

The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OR-OSHA) will offer free training sessions to members of the Mid-Columbia business community during two days of workshops in July.

The Public Education and Conferences Section of Oregon OSHA will be offering four different workshops during the training sessions on July 24 & 25:

Recordkeeping, 8:00am July 24.
Hazard Identification and Control, 1:00pm July 24.
Powered Industrial Truck Safety, 8:00am July 25.
Confined Space Safety, 1:00pm July 25.

‘Recordkeeping' will update participants about new OSHA recordkeeping requirements which went into effect in January (including the OSHA Form 300). ‘Hazard Identification and Control' will help participants uncover a hazardous condition or practice in the workplace, and take steps to correct the situation. ‘Powered Industrial Truck Safety' gives participants an introduction to Oregon OSHA rules for operating forklifts safely and how to design a forklift-training program. ‘Confined Space Safety' will help participants learn about the special safety requirements when a worker will be inside of a confined space (or inside of machinery), and when a special permit is required.

The workshops will be held at Columbia Gorge Community College - Kitchen Training Center Room #1, 400 East Scenic Drive in The Dalles. OR-OSHA provides workshop materials for participants.

Oregon OSHA offers a variety of conferences, on-site training, educational resources and consultation services to help Oregon employers create safer workplaces and reduce the amount of productivity lost due to injuries which occur at work. Additional information and resources are available on Oregon OSHA's website, www.orosha.org
