Oregon OSHA free safety training offered in Bend
The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) will
be presenting two days of free training classes for employers and workers
in Bend during October.
The Public Education and Conferences Section of Oregon OSHA will be offering
four different workshops during the training sessions on October 29 and
30:
Safety Committee Operations, 8:00am October 29
Hazard Communication Program, 1:00pm October 29.
OSHA 300, 8:00am October 30.
Worker Protection Standard, 1:00pm October 30.
Safety Committee Operations' will give attendees an introduction
to OR-OSHA's requirements for operating a workplace safety committee.
Hazard Communication Program' will show participants the basics
of writing a hazard communication plan - including assembling a list of
chemicals in the workplace and training employees. OSHA 300' is
a must for a supervisor or safety committee member who fills out the new
OSHA Form 300 log - and the new record keeping requirements that went
into effect with the form in January 2002. Worker Protection Standard'
emphasizes providing effective training and information for pesticide
handlers and workers - especially workers whose primary language is not
English (This class fulfills three credit hours of pesticide re-certification).
The workshops will be held at the National Guard Armory Room 140-B, 875
SW Simpson Avenue in Bend. OR-OSHA provides workshop materials for participants.
Oregon OSHA offers a variety of conferences, training, educational resources
and consultation services to help Oregon employers create safer workplaces
and reduce the number of injuries which occur at work. Additional information
