Updated Audiovisual Catalog available from Oregon OSHA
The 2003 edition of the Oregon OSHA Audiovisual Catalog is ready to help
meet your workplace training needs. This free catalog lists more than
900 safety training videos available for loan to virtually any employer
and worker in Oregon from the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division
(Oregon OSHA). Borrowers are asked to pay return shipping for any videos
borrowed, but aside from shipping charges, there is no charge for use
of the library.
Ongoing safety training is crucial to keeping your staff at optimal performance
in a safe workplace. The new catalog is organized with new topic areas
to help make your subject searching easier and find that video, book or
CD-ROM custom tailored to meet your training need. Videos and CD-ROMs
are available for two-week check out from the Audiovisual Library.
The catalog features a guide to the Oregon OSHA Audiovisual Library, how
to sign up to become a borrower from the collection (which you
can now accomplish on-line at the Oregon OSHA Web site, www.orosha.org,)
and tips on finding the right training materials, especially for popular
required training categories.
"The Oregon OSHA Resource Center is a gold mine, especially during
these tough economic times," says Don Harris, Oregon OSHA's video
librarian. "Safety training is vital for survival in any economy,
but few businesses can afford to pay three hundred or five hundred dollars
for a safety video which may only be used once or twice a year. Our Resource
Center offers a very cost-effective alternative."
Originally published in 1957 as the Accident Prevention Division Film
Library Catalog, the 2003 Oregon OSHA AV Catalog has expanded to over
100 pages, with over 900 videos, CD-ROMs and training guides listed under
more than 90 topic headings. The catalog may be accessed through Oregon
OSHA's Web site at www.orosha.org. One free copy of the printed
version is also available by calling the Oregon OSHA Resource Center,
toll-free in Oregon, at (800) 922-2689, or e-mailing don.j.harris@state.or.us.
