Oregon OSHA safety training classes scheduled in Coos County
The Department of Consumer and Business Services, Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) will be offering free training sessions to Bay Area employers and workers
on April 5th and April 12 & 13.
NORTH BEND
Tuesday April 5, 8:00am to Noon - Safety Committee Training
This workshop gives safety committee members, especially new members, insight into their roles and how important safety committees are to building safer workplaces. The class addresses topics
such as meeting management, problem-solving, and writing recommendations and reviews safety rules that apply in all Oregon workplaces. This workshop meets Oregon OSHA basic rule requirements for
safety committee training.
The workshop will be held at the Southwestern Oregon Community College Business Development Center, 2455 Maple Leaf in North Bend. The training is a partnership between Oregon OSHA and the Southwestern
Oregon Community College Business Development Center.
COOS BAY
Tuesday and Wednesday, April 12/13, 8:00am to 5:00pm - Two-Day Train the Trainer Workshop
Your company is restructuring and workers are shifting duties. You will now be in charge of your company's safety and health management program. By the way, you will also train ALL employees
on safety and health in the workplace. But who will train you? Oregon OSHA has developed the free two-day "Train the Trainer" workshop to give you the tools necessary to be able to teach
workplace safety and health basics. The workshop will provide an overview of Oregon OSHA training requirements, how to develop an effective safety training program, develop classroom presentation
skills and conduct effective on-the-job (OJT) training.
This free training session will be presented at Southwestern Oregon Community College's Newmark Center, 2110 Newmark in Coos Bay.
