Committee information

The purpose of the Small Agricultural Employer Advisory Committee (SAEAC) is to strengthen the partnership of Oregon OSHA and the private sector. The group's mission is to address issues affecting the agriculture industry. Members of the group include representatives of labor, employers, grower organizations, and government and related non-profit agencies.

Recently adopted rules

The committee recently completed their review of thirteen modified rules in five subdivisions of Division 4/ Agriculture.  

Oregon OSHA has adopted these changes related to the globally harmonized system of chemical classification and labeling (GHS) into OAR 437-004-9800, the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) for Agricultural Employers. In addition, twelve related Division 4 rules were modified to incorporate the GHS definitions and terminology.

The related rules include the Division 4 universal definitions; and standards for flammable liquids, fire prevention, pipe labeling, and the storage of hazardous chemicals.
