Agriculture Employer Advisory Committee
The purpose of the Small Agricultural Employer Advisory Committee (SAEAC) is to strengthen the partnership of Oregon OSHA and the private sector. The group's mission is to address issues affecting the agriculture industry. Members of the group include representatives of labor, employers, grower organizations, and government and related non-profit agencies.

Oregon OSHA administers the worker safety and health parts of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (pesticide) Worker Protection Standard (40 CFR 170.) as Division 4/W. The EPA designated January 2, 2016 as their effective date for their recent revisions to the WPS. However, through the end of 2016, both EPA and Oregon OSHA are enforcing compliance only with the sections consistent with the previous WPS rules (Subparts A, B, and C of the revised rule.)
In response to EPA’s recent changes to the WPS at the federal level, Oregon OSHA initiated rule-making in March of 2016. Links to the EPA’s rules and interpretive documents were sent to committee members by e-mail and also provided at a meeting on April 19th, 2016 at Oregon OSHA’s Portland-area Field Office. Working with the Agricultural Employer Advisory Committee, our goal is to adopt the EPA’s revisions into our rules and plan to meet the federal effective dates:
