Insurance Division Bulletin INS 82-4

THIS BULLETIN HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN

TO: Authorized Casualty and Property Insurers and Rating Organizations

SUBJECT:
Schedule Rating Plans (Individual Risk Rating)

After reviewing responses to Division Bulletin 82-3 dated May 18, 1982, it appears that statistical data to support schedule rating plans is commonly unavailable.

The review indicated that the schedule rating plans, previously utilized for many years, providing credit or debit modifications not to exceed 25% would be an acceptable standard. Schedule rating plans with total credits or debits exceeding 25%, not supported by statistical evidence, would not be in compliance with the standards of ORS chapter 737.

Therefore, all scheduled rating plans exceeding 25%, and not justified by statistical evidence, will be disapproved effective January 1, 1983, pursuant to the processes of ORS 737.336(2) .

All existing plans in excess of 25% should be refiled.
