2001 legislation relating to insurance
The 2001 Oregon Legislative Assembly passed a number of bills affecting the insurance industry. Insurance-related legislation is summarized below.

Unless otherwise specified, the effective date of a bill is Jan. 1, 2002. A bill also may have one or more operative dates that apply to one or more sections of the bill, in addition to its effective
date. An operative date is the date on which the affected section or sections first apply.
Laws enacted in the 2001 session are identified by their bill numbers and, if known, their Oregon Laws chapter numbers (ch 318, for example). SB indicates a Senate bill, while HB indicates a House
bill. DCBS is the Department of Consumer and Business Services.
