Volunteers needed to help Medicare Beneficiaries

BROOKINGS – Do you enjoy helping others? If so, the Oregon Insurance Division is looking for volunteers to help Oregon Medicare beneficiaries through the Medicare maze.

The Insurance Division's Senior health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) program will hold a free training session for new volunteers Tuesday through Thursday, April 20 - 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Brookings. SHIBA is locally sponsored by the Curry county RSVP.

Volunteers will learn how to provide insurance information, one-on-one counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries in the areas of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare supplement insurance, long-term care insurance, and Medicare + Choice.
