Letters of Certification or ClearanceLetter of CertificationThis letter certifies that an individual or business entity is a licensee in good standing in Oregon. Some state insurance departments require this letter, although licensing information can now be confirmed on the NAIC's Producer Licensing Database. The letter will be mailed to the producer's business address of record. You may request a letter of certification by phone, fax, e-mail, or letter.
Letter of ClearanceSome state insurance departments require a letter of clearance, which shows that a resident license has been surrendered, before a producer can obtain a resident license in a new state. A resident producer moving from Oregon to another state has 30 days from the change of legal residence to provide the Insurance Division with a letter of certification of licensure from the new home state. After 30 days, an application and $75 will be required to change the license from a resident license to a nonresident license. Letters of clearance may be requested by fax, e-mail, or letter and must be requested by the producers.
