Individual Adjusters - Oregon Residents

All applicants for an Oregon resident adjuster license must take the Oregon adjuster exam. No pre-license training is required.

To apply as a resident adjuster:

  • Schedule and pass the required examinations.
  • Have your fingerprints digitally scanned at the testing center.
  • After you have passed examinations for all license classes you wish to be licensed for, apply online at NIPR.com.
    • The application will ask you for both a business and residence phone number. You must supply business and residence phone numbers. These can be the same number, but both fields need to be filled.
  • Submit the Criminal Records Request form (Form 4862).

NOTE: The business entity (agency) also must file an affiliation of adjuster (Form 2139) within 30 days.

NOTE: Beginning Jan.1, 2013, the Insurance Division will cease accepting paper applications. All applications for a license are to be submitted to the Oregon Insurance Division electronically.

NOTE: Fingerprinting services are performed at the PSI exam centers. Fingerprint candidates should call the exam vendor to set up an appointment to have their fingerprints digitally scanned and transmitted to the Oregon State Police for processing.

Exam Information

Exams are administered by PSI. See PSI's website (psiexams.com) for information for candidates for Oregon licenses, including how to register for exams, exam outlines, and exam fees. Exam fees are paid directly to PSI at the time of exam registration. Individuals who wish to request special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or for whom English is a second language (ESL) may request special exam arrangements by submitting a special accommodations form to PSI. The form is available on PSI's website in the licensing information bulletin.
