Licensing Procedures
NOTE: Beginning Jan. 1, 2011, all fingerprinting will be performed at the testing centers. Fingerprint candidates should call the exam vendor to set up an appointment to have their fingerprints digitally scanned and transmitted to the Oregon State Police for processing.
Individual Producers
Oregon Resident
To apply as a resident producer
- Schedule and pass the required examinations.
- Have your fingerprints digitally scanned at the testing center.
- After you have passed examinations for all license classes you wish to be licensed
for, apply online at NIPR.com. Please
supply business and residence phone numbers. These can be the same number, but both fields
need to be filled. Applicants can submit an Individual
Insurance License Application (Form 3000) instead of applying online, but paper submissions
take significantly longer to process than electronic submissions.
- Submit the Criminal
Records Request form (Form 4862).
- Pay all required fees.
NOTE: If your fingerprints are digitally scanned at the testing center,
please do not send in additional fingerprint cards or background check fees.
NOTE: Submit the application when you have taken all the exams and you
are ready to receive the license. An additional application and fees would be required to add
classes of insurance to an existing license.
NOTE: Currently licensed resident producers adding lines of authority
to an existing license only need to submit the license application and $75 fee.
NOTE: The business entity (agency) also must file an Affiliation
of Producer (Form 2139) within 30 days.
