Oregon OSHA offers free training in Bend

- The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OR-OSHA) will offer free training sessions to members of the Bend-area business community during two days of workshops in July.

The Public Education and Conferences Section of Oregon OSHA will be offering four different workshops during the training sessions on July 9 & 10:

  • Safety & Heath Management Planning, 8:00am July 9.
  • Confined Space Safety, 1:00pm July 9.
  • Accident Investigation, 8:00am July 10.
  • Exposure Control/Bloodborne Pathogens, 1:00pm July 10.

‘Safety & Heath Management Planning' is an introduction class for employers to learn about creating safe workplaces and planning ahead. ‘Confined Space Safety' will help participants learn about the special safety requirements when a worker will be inside of a confined space (or inside of machinery), and when a special permit is required. ‘Accident Investigation' will provide training about conducting an investigation into workplace injury or safety incidents and ‘Exposure Control/Bloodborne Pathogens' discusses how to protect workers from bloodborne diseases and contamination as well as implementing an effective exposure control plan.

The workshops will be held at the National Guard Armory Room #140B, 875 SW Simpson Avenue in Bend. OR-OSHA provides workshop materials for participants.

Oregon OSHA offers a variety of conferences, on-site training, educational resources and consultation services to help Oregon employers create safer workplaces and reduce the amount of productivity lost due to injuries which occur at work. Additional information and resources are available on Oregon OSHA's website, www.orosha.org
