Oregon OSHA free safety training offered in Grants Pass

The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) will be presenting two days of free training classes for employers and workers in Grants Pass during October.

The Public Education and Conferences Section of Oregon OSHA will be offering four different workshops during the training sessions on October 29 and 30:

Safety & Health Management, 8:00am October 29
Job Hazard Analysis, 1:00pm October 29.
Effective Safety Supervision, 8:00am October 30.
Safety Committee Meeting Management, 1:00pm October 30.

‘Safety & Health Management' is an introduction class for employers to learn about creating safe workplaces and planning ahead. ‘Job Hazard Analysis' will guide participants through a process for prioritizing which workplace hazards should be corrected first and how to eliminate hazards in the future. ‘Effective Safety Supervision' gives supervisors a greater understanding about providing a safe workplace, the costs of safety and Oregon OSHA rules that apply to all workplaces. ‘Safety Committee Meeting Management' will show participants how to conduct effective safety committee meetings, and how keep safety committee members motivated and involved.

The workshops will be held at the Hillcrest Fire Station Training Room, 199 NW Hillcrest Drive in Grants Pass. OR-OSHA provides workshop materials for participants.

Oregon OSHA offers a variety of training, educational resources and consultation services to help Oregon employers create safer workplaces and reduce the number of injuries which occur at work. Additional information and resources are available on Oregon OSHA's website, www.orosha.org
