Oregon OSHA free safety training offered in Ashland

The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) will be presenting two days of free training classes for employers and workers in Ashland during November.

The Public Education and Conferences Section of Oregon OSHA will be offering four different workshops during the training sessions on November 13 and 14:

Safety & Health Management, 8:00am November 13.
Safety Committee Operations, 1:00pm November 13.
Accident Investigation, 8:00am November 14.
Worker Protection Standard, 1:00pm November 14.

‘Safety & Health Management' is an introduction class for employers and new safety committee members to learn about creating safe workplaces and planning ahead. ‘Safety Committee Operations' will give attendees an introduction to OR-OSHA's requirements for operating a workplace safety committee. ‘Accident Investigation' will teach participants what information to gather, how to secure an accident scene and conclusions to draw when an accident occurs at work. ‘Worker Protection Standard' emphasizes providing effective training and safety information for pesticide handlers and workers - especially workers whose primary language is not English (Agricultural employers: this class fulfills three credit hours of pesticide re-certification).

The workshops will be held at Stephenson Union Building Room 330 on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. Oregon OSHA provides workshop materials for participants. More information and resources are available on Oregon OSHA's website, www.orosha.org

For more information about these workshops or to register, call the Oregon OSHA Education Section, (503) 947-7443, or toll-free in Oregon, (888) 292-5247 Option 2.
