No-cost pesticide protection training class in Salem

The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) will provide a free training session about pesticide safety in September.

The training will review Oregon OSHA's 'Worker Protection Standard' for safeguarding workers at risk of being exposed to pesticides, primarily agricultural workers. A special emphasis of the class will be how to provide effective training to workers whose primary language is not English.

The training workshop will be held Thursday, September 25th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm in Training Room 'C' of the Labor and Industries Building, 350 Winter Street NE on the Capitol Mall in Salem. Oregon OSHA will provide workshop materials for participants.

This class qualifies for four (4) credit hours of pesticide re-certification training for Oregon-certified pesticide applicators and consultants.

Oregon OSHA offers a variety of conferences, on-site training, educational resources and consultation services to help Oregon employers create safer workplaces and reduce the amount of productivity lost due to injuries which occur at work. Additional information and resources are available on Oregon OSHA's website, www.orosha.org

To register for the workshop, fax your request on company letterhead to (503) 947-7462 or register on the Oregon OSHA Web site, www.orosha.org under "Education." For questions about Oregon OSHA training, call (503) 947-7443 or call toll-free within Oregon, (888) 292-5247, option two.
