Closure notice
January 18, 2013

closed signThe current recession has reduced state revenues, and has forced the Legislature to make deep cuts in agency budgets. Coping with these cuts includes closing the Department of Consumer and Business Services on 10 Fridays that fall throughout the current two-year budget period.

The department is closed on Friday, January 19, for a mandatory unpaid furlough day, and Monday, January 21 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr holiday. However, like state police and others who provide essential public safety services, Oregon OSHA enforcement officers will be in the field to inspect workplaces in a wide range of industries. The enforcement staff will take their unpaid furloughs on alternative days.

Employees who want to file a complaint with Oregon OSHA on a closure day can still do so online at http://www.orosha.org/subjects/complaints.html; to report an imminent danger threat, they should call 800-922-2689.

We regret any inconvenience this closure may cause, and we look forward to reopening Tuesday morning, January 22.
