Back Safety & Health

Back injuries affect all types of people in all types of jobs. Injuries frequently occur both on and off the job. Over 80% of us will develop back problems at some point in our lives. On the job, over two million people experience back injuries every year. Back injuries can have an even more dramatic effect on our personal lives. People who develop back problems may suffer great pain, their lives may be changed forever by disability and they may not be able to continue in their chosen line of work. This video is designed to present the fundamentals of back safety and health to all employees. Topics include how the spine functions, types of spinal injuries and diseases, treatment of back problems and the importance of good posture while working, driving and sleeping. Proper techniques for lifting objects are also stressed in the program. (20 min)
